The Concrete Centre is staffed with a team of qualified professionals with backgrounds in concrete construction, engineering and architecture. This team is strongly focused on the continued development of concrete and masonry through design inspiration and construction efficiency, research strategy, education and training, new product and process innovation and the achievement of best performance of concrete in practice.

Andrew Minson, executive director
Andrew is chartered both as a civil and structural engineer and joined The Concrete Centre in 2004 as head of structural engineering following 10 years with ARUP. He now leads the work to enable and equip the construction industry to efficiently and sustainably use concrete and masonry. He has a particular interest in sustainability, chairing the IStructE Sustainability panel where he is also a board member, and was a member of the Buildings Task Group for the Low Carbon Construction review that led to the Green Construction Board. Andrew is also executive director for British Precast.
Guy Thompson, head of architecture, sustainability and housing
Guy is an architect with nearly 40 years practical experience, the last 9 of which have been in his current role following a private practice career at principal level. His role is to join up both technical and aspirational drivers with a focus on housing and sustainability in order to inform the specifier professions. This involves making a bridge between industry achievement (e.g. Concrete Industry Sustainable Construction Strategy) and specifier action (e.g. Thermal mass in housing).
Jenny Burridge, head of structural engineering
Jenny is a chartered civil and structural engineer with more than 25 years' experience in the construction industry. She has worked for ARUP and AECOM designing award winning buildings, both in the UK and mainland Europe. Jenny is also on the Council of CONSTRUCT and a member of the working group on fire for the European Concrete Platform.
Claire Ackerman, head of marketing and communications
Claire is responsible for all aspects of marketing and communications including brand and event management, PR and social media, publications, CRM and market research. With experience gained in product marketing and marketing management in a variety of industries, Claire brings marketing strategy, project management and a passion for communications to the organisation.
