Post-tensioned concrete is becoming increasingly used in the UK, particularly for high rise construction where the saving in the slab depths can make a big difference in the height of the building. This course is for structural engineers with little or no experience in the design of post-tensioning and will cover the basics of design, the benefits of choosing post-tensioning, sizing of post-tensioned elements and the constructional aspects. The course is run in conjunction with the PTA (Post-Tensioning Association) and will also cover their new specification for procuring post-tensioned structures.
