The Concrete Centre is saddened to note the recent passing of Ben Bowsher

The Concrete Centre is saddened to note the recent passing of Ben Bowsher, who until 2015 was chief executive of the UK Certification Authority for Reinforcing Steels (CARES).

Ben held various managerial positions before being appointed Executive Director in 1993 and CEO in 2012. During his time, he was instrumental in creating an environment where the confidence in reinforcement and reinforcement products rose significantly. At times, he trod a difficult path but he did so with an infectious conviviality. He was an enthusiastic supporter of The Concrete Centre and its predecessors and we are indebted to him.

Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
