Utilising masonry for thermal mass and low carbon buildings (Houghton Le Spring)

This project briefing is a unique opportunity to learn about an innovative masonry solution ‘thermal wall’ that has been used at the Houghton Primary Care Centre. The event will present the design and construction considerations of the hollow masonry ‘thermal wall’ solution. The architect, building services and ventilation engineers will provide insight into its use as part of a low energy ventilation system, designed to meet the privacy and separation requirements of a healthcare building. A site visit of the completed BREEAM Outstanding healthcare centre is also included as part of this free event.
